Summary

Job Title: Blaster

Location: Northeast British Columbia

Start Date: When filled

Schedule / Terms of Employment: 12-hour shifts, (7 days on / 7 days off) 2x 30-minute breaks per shift

Primary Purpose

The blast crew fills the blast holes with explosives, sets detonator charges, and blasts the pattern.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Guide explosives equipment to drill hole locations
  • Fill blast holes with explosives
  • Set detonator charges
  • Blast the pattern
  • Assist with stocking explosives

Skills and Abilities

  • Lift / carry boxes of explosives (up to 60 lbs). Lift up to shoulder height
  • Drive to and from the blast site 

Work Environments/Conditions

Working outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme cold. Pickup truck available for breaks. Uneven ground, working around heavy equipment and working with explosives (AN).
